On the road

First of all I hope you all had a wonderful x-mas and some time to relax. My Christmas was nice and peaceful, after I finished all my projects (just) in time.

The Christmas market was VERY cold. It was the coldest weekend this winter, with -16° Celsius , but we had a lot of fun.

Brigitte and me in our little stand

This is how the stand looked without the flashlight. Brigitte and Nina in our little stand.

My whole family came to visit on Sunday, except Karsten, who was in the hospital and Clara, who was cross country skiing.

Now, I have to admit, that I put all the x-mas decoration back into the boxes, since I’m getting ready for my long vacation. So, I just wanted to let you know that it will be quiet on the blog for the next few weeks, since I’ll be in New Zealand until the beginning of February.
I wish you all happy year 2010 and that all you wishes come true.

Light

I’m seeing light at the end of the tunnel…

First thing first, for everybody who is in Munich the coming weekend!!!
You HAVE to come to this fantastic Christmasmarket and enjoy the great food, some Glühwein while the Lagerfeuer (campfire) is warming you and most important you will see me and Brigitte freezing and enjoying ourself, no matter what.

Oh did I tell you that the light at the end of the tunnel has funny figure

And somehow I’m pretty sure that I wont be enjoying the right in it this way

but it will lead me to a fantastic vacation which starts in 14 days.
I hope you all enjoy the spirit of the season.

I did it again

I charged the batteries, I put the camera in a spot so I can easily access it, I wanted to document the event… and what happened? Nothing, the camera was never touched, nothing was documented. There was just no time while welcoming everyone, making sure there had to drink and eat, talking to the people (that part comes always to short), but I had a lot of fun and I hope my guest as well.

Now the couch, the armchair and the quilt needs to be cleaned from chocolate smudges and I tell myself next year I’ll only server gummy bears (knowing very well that I will again serve a lot of chocolate…)
Here are some photos from my decoration which I worked on the WHOLE Saturday, but I’m very pleased with my Winterzauber.

I just love these fake snow balls

Can you see me taking the photo?

There is some spray glue in that decoration!

That’s what the guessed saw when they walked in.
Oh and today I delivered 120 Christmas cards to one of mine customers which I worked on during the last days, now I have to work on the albums...

40+1

Last Saturday a good friend of mine made a party for his 40+1 birthday (that’s what the invitation said). I know that he and his wife a going to Patagonia in January (by the way did I mentioned already that I’ll be New Zealand the whole January…just wanted to make sure I told you…yes I’m bragging and I’m looking so much forward to that trip…), so I thought I make him a little travel journal especially for Patagonia, this is how it turned out

I’m getting ready for my little “Winterzauber” next Sunday, but right now we have 15° Celsius during the day and that is far, far away from any winter, so I’ll have to do a lot of decorating, hihihi...

CSI and Friday 13th

Yesterday I spend two and half hours at the police station, after I found a dent and a big scratch in the paint of my little convertible. Needless to say that my mood on Friday 13th dramatically went down after that…So after getting over the first frustration I drove to the police station around the corner and filed a report against unknown (I have no clue if that is the right translation into English, but in German we say “Anzeige gegen Unbekannt”). I told the officer that I believe it could have been someone from the construction side across the street, since there is also some dirt like plastering around the scratch. So after he looked at it and the report was put into the computer, he told me to drive to another police station to “secure the evidence”.
While driving to that police station I couldn’t help myself and thought about the CSI TV show! Well, the German Spurensicherung looks nothing like the one on TV, but the guy took some pictures and also a sample of the dirt and paint scratch.
So now I have to wait and see if anything is coming out of that, which basically means I’ll get letter saying either that they caught someone or that they couldn’t. I don’t have a lot of hope and that means I’ll have to pay for fixing the damage by myself!!!
No, it was certainly not a good Friday 13th …

I hope your weekend started better then mine…

Busy, busy, busy…

Sorry for not positing anything interesting in the last days, but I’m just way to busy right now and that is good! The sale on the last weekend went really well and I got a lot of feedback and customized orders on which I’m working on right now.

Then there is also my sale on November 22nd to plan and to organize, so that keeps me busy as well. The decoration theme for that event is planed out in my head, now I just need to get everything ready for it…let me surprise you…

Oh by the way, my homepage has a new design and it is still not finished, so keep on checking…sorry for all the Non-German speakers, but right now my homepage is only in German available.

Good friend

Do you know what the most important thing is in the world?
Family and good friends!!!
One of my best friends helped me designing my logo and my business cards with 1) her professional opinion and 2) having the right programs, hihihi. She is not just my most favorite photographer for example family photos and vacation photos (we made several trips together), she also gave my ideas just the right professional finish. Look for you self, here are my business card

You can find all the information of Gerry here. Vielen Dank Gerry.

Online shopping

It’s 12:45 at night and I just finished some supply shopping online. Thank goodness for the great invention of online shopping. You can do it whenever you want or need to and you don’t have to worry that you hair are messed up (or just put into a ponytail very sloppy, like mine right now) or that you are not dressed for the occasion. It saves you a trip all the way to the other side of Munich and even beyond that (which is at the stage of the producing business I’m right now in, very important) and you can do it when you are really (and I mean really tired) like I am right now and most of the time, the stuff you ordered looks like you expected it to look like…well most of the time…
I wish you all very good start into the new week and don’t forget my “product-coming-out” on Friday 18:00 till …(well: open end), Saturday 11:00-20:00 and Sunday 11:00-18:00 in the Mauerkircherstraße 48.
Hope to see some of you there :-)

Isn’t November 1st already???

OK each year I’m shock on September 1st when I see all the Christmas cookies and Lebkuchen on the displays in the grocery stores, because here in Bavaria the kids are still on summer school break!
So each year I’m telling myself that I’ll resist until November 1st with buying and especially with eating some Christmas cookies…

Today I could resist and bought me some Spekulatius and since I have no idea what they are called in English I thought I take a photo:

I don’t think that I have to tell you, that I bought them and just looked at them…oh there are SOOOOO good and they are even the ones with chocolate on one side…double good…what did I say about waiting until November 1st??? Oh well (I’m eating the one from the photo in this very second)

Extreme Couching

This time of the year is perfect to start you own business, because you don’t feel bad if you have to stay inside and work, since everybody else is doing the same thing. Well, I mean the staying inside not the working part (even though I know some of my friends do that part too).

The weather is gray, cold and wet, which means you make it comfortable on the couch with a good book or magazine in your hand, the music you love is playing in the background and you just relax and are happy that you don’t have to go outside. (This is what I did all the last years)

For me the weather is gray, cold and wet, which means I put on good music, sit down on my new working area and spread all the beautiful design paper across the bed and think “oh, that is just too cute to be cut up” or “oh, these two just go perfectly together” and then I smile to myself, relax and star working. (Like I said what a good time to start you own business)

I wish you all a wonderful and relaxed weekend and have fun with the extreme couching.

At the same time…

The below happens this happens on my balcony

Well enough of the weather, what happens in my life right now???

I'm fighting and I mean fighting!!! with this monster

It took me only about a million years and heavy machinery to get through the plastic cover and some not happy thoughts...I think you get the idea
to get to these babies, which are the best :-)

What am I doing with them??? Well right now I'm producing and producing and I promise to show some of the results, as soon as I have taken some photos...

Winter wonder land

Just a quick post before I have to go. As I wrote in my last post the weather here in Munich has changed dramatically over a 10 day period from sunshine and still warm weather to gray skies and cold weather. As I woke up in the morning and looked out of my balcony window I saw this…

Do you want to use it as your x-mas card motive???
More later during the day...

Change

Just last week we had 25° Celsius here in Munich and I was driving my little convertible open during the day. Now I walk home in SNOW!!!! What a change.

Hello winter and good by summer and oh we skipped fall…

Finally

Do you have photos from you last vacation still on your computer and not printed out? Well I have tones of photos where say: “Oh this one is nice or that one turned out not to bad”, but there are still not printed out or looked at for some time…

So when I looked for photos to put into one of my demo-albums I had tones to choose from and I decided I’ll take the ones from my last trip to Seattle and Pasco in September 2008, because they just fitted perfectly to the album. So here some of the photos which made into the album:

You might notice I love to put frames around my photos in the photoshop ;-).
I wish you all a happy weekend.

Lego tower

Since Thursday thousands of kids were working on a Lego tower behind the town hall to get a new record for the Guinness Book of Records. We were there when they finally assembled the most top part.

Luca got his name on one of the Lego blocks for the peak

Try to find the name on the tower :-).

Then they measured the height of the tower: 29 meter, and 97 cm (roughly 118 inch)

Failed

I gave myself a simple task today: Buy some decoration pumpkin…

So I got on my bike and drove off to the first place…this is what I found

Since I was close to my brothers house I thought well you could make short visit. After a few minutes of talking I got on my bike again and this time my niece went with me to a spot, where my sister in law thought they would sell some pumpkins…no pumpkins there, only flowers...
After I went back with my niece, I thought: OK Svenja, you need to treat you self with a piece of plum cake from the best bakery in Munich. So 10 minutes later I was on my way back home together with my a piece of plum cake…while enjoying it on my balcony in the sun I thought about my simple task…
So, after another 30 minutes I got into my little convertible, opened the roof and drove to the third spot for pumkin-selling…this is what I found

By that time I thought am I missing something and pumpkin selling time is already over???...So another five minutes later I was at the fourth spot…and they had pumpkins left, but they were pretty much all rotten, but I wanted at least some…so I took these home with me

So, everyone who has decorative pumpkins at home: ENJOY, because they are very rare…

Cards

Well, I think it is time again to show you some creations, since the blog is called thoughts and creations.
So here are some cards, the colors don’t come out the right way but the little boy is available in light and dark blue and the girl in light purple and light green.

Here you can see that the card itself has a little shimmer to it, well and actually it is white!!!

The color is really bad on this one, but the basic card has the shimmer as the ones above and the text is brown with a light blue chalking in the back.

If you like one of these cards just email me.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

OK I promised you these photos for Saturday, but life was just a little too much fun over the weekend, so here are the master pieces taken with my mobile phone camera and I have to say that the quality is really poor, but hey what did I expect …it is phone and not a full blown camera...

The general crowd of the Oktoberfest

The three girls (very blurry, but funny...)

Gerry and Caro in the Autoscouter

Gerry was scared by Caros driving

The end of the Autoscouter ride...

While downloading the photos I found these photos from my last business trip to Toulouse in France (treasures in my mobile phone). You probably think, oh yeah what a business trip, but these photos where take before and after we had dinner down town and yes we had an all day meeting.

(I think this is the town hall)

Pont Neuf in Toulouse

Basilique St-Sernin

Last, but not least, I wanted to show you this little felt pumpkin I found at a market I went to on Saturday with my mom and my nephew and niece (photos from that day are on the camera of my mom…)

And now I wish you all a HAPPY MONDAY
